Heaven’s Rain: True Story Adapted by Hollywood

Heaven’s Rain follows the story of a politician who founded an important piece of victim’s right’s legislation in Oklahoma. The story begins with the Douglass family goes through a harrowing night 30 years in the past. The night will change the lives of the family forever.
The politician wins his fight, but by doing so, he finds that he must come to grips with his past.

The 2010 movie is an example of a true story that was adapted by Hollywood. Several films including 21 and Rain Man have been based on real world events and real world characters. If the story focuses on people who are still living it is not considered to be a historical piece. The true stories often cause some people to roll their eyes. They are, after all, associated with melodramatic pieces that seem to appeal to an audience that is much larger than it should be.

The productions that make it to the silver screen, however, do not rely on this type of plot. They portray more sympathetic depictions of their characters than the TV versions do. They do not overplay the drama. When Hollywood bases things on real people, they try to make these people believable.
