Scranton’s Crime Fighting Software
The days of criminals waiting to be tracked down by police officers may be going by the wayside, with new crime fighting software being used by Scrantron’s Police Department. Officers have noted that this software allows for use of an interactive map, updated around 12:30 a.m. daily, alerting police and residents where potential crimes have occurred. This tool can be an excellent resource to protect residents, as well as deter crime.
While some criminals may be drug addicts that lack the ability to think straight, many are extremely intelligent and realize they have the police out numbered. They are wrong now, considering the map of potential crimes will be released to the general public so they have several eyes watching the area. If a whole neighborhood is on the lookout for a specific person in a specific area, then this is like several security cameras without any blind spots. Even if the criminal is never caught, then at least they will know several people are now watching them and they probably will not return to the scene. The bottom line is almost everything, except for a life can be compensated for. In conclusion, whether criminals are caught, or simply never return, as long as no lives are taken then it is effective.
